Consider the morning! Birds are chirping away, coffee is brewing, two lovers are saying their vows before God and everybody….Hey,..WHAT??
Ok, it’s not all happening at the break of dawn, but there is a feeling of exhilaration that the earth (our part of it) is waking up!! Actually, some weddings DO take place during the most peaceful and fresh time of the day! Maybe it’s 10:00 am… or maybe 11:00. You’ve shown up at 8:00 am to have your up-do and makeup done, and guests are soon to arrive! Everything is ready! Well, almost everything! And whatever isn’t ready is being taken care of at the last minute by those who dearly love you. They are raring to go because it’s morning! They are not exhausted…they just slept all night and are happy and content to watch you walk down the cherry trees looking bright eyed and beautiful!! If your budget is of concern to you, then a daytime wedding will fit right in! Most guests drink less alcohol during the day, and a luncheon menu normally is less expensive than a full on dinner.
Your out of town guests will need to arrive the night before, but they will have some extra time to enjoy the weekend traipsing around town and seeing a few sights before traveling home for their work week.
I’m sure each couple has their individually unique reason they chose that time of day…maybe they want a jumpstart on the honeymoon, and the flight is scheduled for late afternoon! Or, is it possible that the weather has something to do with it? Maybe the idea that the cold night air will drop exponentially at 5 pm in the fall is reason enough to demur. I’m beginning to really love the morning weddings! We’ve had three of them just this year, and I’m hoping for it to become a trend!
